du/sig ep hate

by:

Being honest here I just find it stunning how angry and upset some people are on this website about DU. What exactly did they do that makes the guys on this website boiling in anger and hate? Even if both frats were in as bad of a position people claim before the merge, why would it be so surprising that they would merge to mutually benefit themselves? Its only logical. I literally see posts on here all the time that are obviously written by another frats and obviously bumped with reply posts to keep it at the top of the discussion. If they are so "irrelevant" then why are people CONSTANTLY bringing them up and talking about them? The more I think about it the funnier it is. If you hate a frat so terribly much and you want them to fall, the key is to move the spotlight AWAY from them, not towards them...

All publicity is good publicity, even in greek life. At this point it wouldn't be far from the truth to say that DU is the most brought up topic on this site (mostly negative) and its obvious its from other frats trying to make them look worse than they are

I think people are just getting angry about their spike in rankings and their self-promotion that's constantly being spammed on here, but you're not wrong in saying that they have gotten an absolute ridiculous amount of hate and there are a lot of frats out to get them

Rumor is DU mational is not going to allow the merger because it invalidates chapter's liability insurance.

The purpose of a DU chapter is to find men who share the Fraternity’s principles and to develop them into Balanced Men who will be the next generation of values-based leaders. Drinking really plays no role in that mission, and frankly, data from higher education researchers shows that it actively works against a chapter's ability to do so.

DU and SigEp have unofficially partnered, with almost all of the guys who were SigEp now going to the ranks of DU. For this year, DU is having 40+ guys who used to be SigEps paying dues/partnering with them.

For girls, this means more bar tabs with better budgets, more guys at the parties and a better pregame area if they want to hang out with their friends.

For guys, DU/SigEp has another 50k they have coming in without expenses and so will probably throw a killer St Paddy's and other big events and even more late nights.

Rumor is FRMT, Ltd. heard about Sig Eps merger and told the DU national the Michigan chapter's liability insurance will be invalidated for the active members and alumni house corp. House corp. officers and individual actives personally liable for accidents and lawsuits. Alumni not liking this and having second thoughts.

So ask FRMT, Ltd. how their liability insurance for DU members works for Sig Eps non-members?

LOL... no fraternity's insurance carrier covers merged members. What part of "unofficial" do you not understand?

SigEp nationals is trying sooo hard to punish brothers for giving them the middle finger.

@ #8, correct, none of the firms that provide fraternity insurance will cover "unofficial" chapter members. The part that you apparently don't understand is that FRMT, Ltd. could consider the DU actives' actions to engage in the merger as a breach of the DU national's risk management policies (which are directly incorporated into FRMT, Ltd.'s liability insurance policy terms and conditions) that in turn would allow them to deny coverage in the event of a claim. So, do what you want, but everyone just needs to understand that paying a claim for a lawsuit or accident could easily end up being the responsibility of homeowners policies of the actives' parents. The house corporation board alumni members would also not have coverage because they too would be in breach by allowing the actives to violate the DU national's risk management policies.
