I wouldn't say "competitive", but it is Semi-competitive for a medium sized university. Greek life is pretty big too compared to the amount of students they have at UNC. Basically, if you are involved in greek life, people at least know who you are and which chapter you are from!

Sig chi= if you are good looking, funny, majority are white, if you are able to survive hazing or not.
Delt= very diverse, very fratty, not all good looking but they do have a lot of good looking boys. You cannot be socially awkward to be a delt
Pi kapp= if you are nice or not

The fall recruitment is already over so idk why this matters anymore..
But DZ & APHI both look for hot ones mostly. DZ got the hottest pledge class in 2013 but APHIs got it this year. They both have way different quality girls though.. Aphi girls are very outgoing within the greek life. DZ girls are wayyyy out going and down to earth within greek life and to non greeks as well. Both top tier but DZ drops girls madly by GPA. If you don't make their minimum requirement you are cut right there. You gotta be hot and somewhat brainy.

They don't just take "freshmen" boys because they are young. They look for the qualities in guys that fit into the cheater. It doesn't matter if they are freshmen sophomore or junior. They don't care about the age because at the end, they are all brothers.
