can you get into a top tier house with a 2.9 GPA if you had a good GPA in high school, lots of activities, etc.?

It depends on what your top tiers are. If you're reffering to kappa/pi phi, I don't think they put a ton of weight into those things. Not in a bad way, just not their #1 thing.

that is what I am referring to. So kappa/pi phi would still give out bids to someone with just under a 3.0?

What are the typical cut offs? I know like theta is 2.6 so would they be around there too?

Each sorority has a cut-off, so it depends. That applies to kappa/pi phi too

Assume that the lower the GPA, the higher the risk of getting dropped at your top house. Chi O and Theta tends to drop if you have below a 3.5 and Phi Mu will drop you too if your GPA isn't above a 3.0. But don't worry about that! Every house makes exceptions if you have connections/have great conversations with the girls
