recommendation letters

how beneficial are recommendation letters (for sororities)? not the legacies type, but a letter from a friend who is in the sorority but at a different school?

only if it's from somebody in nationals or from your mom or sister who was in the same sorority. otherwise we'll read it and keep it in mind but won't really give you special consideration
