by: ?

I know there's a minimum gpa to join a sorority, but in what range do houses actually prefer?

The higher GPA the better.....having said that, 3.0 is a good start.

As long as you meet the minimum requirement for each Sorority you are fine.

it's f'ed up that sororities only consider gpa as a number but like you cannot compare someone who is a comm major to someone who is a science major or a double major... like obviously the comm major is gonna have a higher gpa lol df

You only need to meet the minimum requirements. If you can't maintain the minimum, no matter what major, you need to seriously reconsider adding a sorority to your plate.

There are plenty of girls with double majors, engineering majors, etc in sororities who meet the requirements. It's not f'ed up for an organization to hold members to a high standard. Also, sororities look at who you are as a person much more heavily than GPA (assuming you meet requirements) so don't worry if you have a difficult major or schedule and it makes it harder to get a high GPA! That just adds to your dynamicism as a person.

The minimum for most houses is a 2.8. If you can't get that, regardless of your major, you need to spend your extra time studying not doing sorority stuff.

a 3.0 and above always helps

Why is the minimum GPA 2.6 to rush when most, if not all houses minimum is at least at 2.7/2.75?

because why would we want someone who only meets the bare minimum? to be the best gotta recruit the best. we hold ourselves and our new members to high standards.

But if someone rushes with a 2.6 then they wouldn't meet the requirements for any house and therefore that means there is no point in going through recruitment? I think that's the point the person was trying to make
