Theta pays for the entire cost of their events with top frats so that they will put them on their calendar... the guys get house points for showing up (points that usually are earned for things like being the sober person at an event or going to philanthropy).

On top of not being a top house, they are social climbers that would rather force being somewhere they are unwanted than have fun where they are.
