southeast vs. west coast greek life

by:

Im transferring from Alabama to LA and would like to know what differences I would observe in Greek Life and any differences in the recruitment process (like what do you guys looks for in PNMa? How much money my parents make?). I'm joining a fraternity if you couldn't tell by my name.

Ucla frats won't care at all about how much money your parents make/ anything superficial like Alabama might. Color of skin doesn't matter, neither does political affiliation. Rush is based heavily on general attractiveness and personality, that's it.

you're transferring from Alabama but weren't already in a fraternity there...?

I was in a chapter at UA but I'm transferring. Always wanted to go to school on the West Coast but didn't get in here or Stanford when I applied during high school.

No way I would give someone who disaffiliated from their fraternity a bid. Shows that guy isn't loyal and is joining for all the wrong reasons. You're a brother of a fraternity for life, not 2 or 4 years. I thought the South took things like this more seriously, but maybe not.

You see, TKE isn't exactly a "real" fraternity here at Bama. They've been a colony for like three years now. I actually think they closed.

Are you a full member? I thought TKE at Bama was still a colony. Does the chapter not have to be formally installed before you can be initiated?

dude isn't a TKE, he's a troll who posted this on a bunch of different pages. Not sure what he's aiming to accomplish.

I don't think we've ever officially had TKE.

UCLA doesn’t have a real Greek system only USC does. TKE at USC is sort of pathetic. Sigma Chi and Lambda Chi are top houses at USC. Pretty much everyone at UCLA didn’t get accepted at USC so they are usually jealous of SC folks.
