No letters needed! I know girls with legacy who got cut from houses, and girls who chose other houses despite their legacy. Just be yourself and relax! It's a really tiring process lol

Some houses take legacy more seriously than others, but having rec letters won't hurt you! But the opinions of the girls in the house are taken into account much more than legacy/rec letters. They won't make or break, but they can only help

Legacy is not a for sure thing here I have known girls get cut from houses in which they had legacy

As for Rex letters they are not required at ucla and not many people bother to get them. Unless they're coming from a notable alumni of the chapter they aren't really given much weight at all. And if the rec letter isn't great it could negatively affect you. (For example if there's lack of enthusiasm in a rec letter they'll cut you before you even walk through the door) if a sister who knows you wasn't beaming about young the red letter then why should they be excited

So if you're gonna get one be careful and make sure the person you are asking 1. Has god standing with the sorority and 2. Really knows you and will vouch for you

If not you're better off not getting one especially at ucla where 98% of the girls do not get them because they aren't required
