self ranking assumptions

All of the sororities lately have been bombarded with some sadly negative posts and a lot of them (on every singe house's page at some point recently) have been accusations of self ranking, calling girls pathetic and stupid for allegedly writing positive reviews about themselves. Let me just say... I have never self ranked my sorority. But I do go on other pages and leave genuine, honest high ranks because I have friends in every house and know all of them are good in their own way though not perfect. But sometimes my posts have been down voted and people have accused my own genuine expressions of friendship, to be "pathetic" self ranks. Let's just take a moment to think about the fact that whenever we see something nice or a compliment, we assume it is fake. Why is that? The culture of Greek rank has become so negative and personal and it's not what sororities should be about, or even what they are like in real life. There's nothing pathetic about positivity, in my opinion right now we could all benefit from some real panhellic sisterhood.
