Is it worth joining Aphi?
by: COBI heard Aphi is doing cob this Fall so Ive decided to attend their events whenever they announce them. As a junior, is Aphi a good chapter to go for? I’ve heard rumors that their sisterhood is toxic and as a result a lot of girls drop. But is this actually true? Otherwise, I’m thinking of aiming for a top house next semester despite my grade level. I need honest opinions please!

If you’re a junior, it’s going to be extremely tough to get a bid from the top houses. I think you should go for COB, and if Aphi offers you a bid, take it! If that doesn’t work out this semester, then try again next semester. But I’m telling you right now that formal recruitment will be a lot harder for you. Also, do not listen to the rumors. No chapter is perfect and there will always be a few bad apples at every house. Nonetheless, Aphi is still a good house and although it’s not as “relevant” as the “core 4”, it’s certainly more relevant than the other houses below them. There’s also a gap between Aphi and Tri delt/Adpi, so Aphi is on a tier of it’s own. And honestly, if you get up to Tri delt or Adpi it’s still worth being a part of Greek Life. Good luck!

I know a couple juniors that got into Tri Delt and Adpi, way more than the top 4. So idk what you’re talking about when you said mid houses don’t take Juniors.

Is it worth being in a sorority to you? Pretty much zero chance you get higher than Aphi unless you happen to have best friends in the other houses. If you get a COB from them, I’d take it in a heartbeat if you care about ranking, which you seem to. Aphi is a good house. They have issues, but so does every house, regardless of what people say on here.

Uh ok APhi? The one thing she’s right about is you really won’t get into a a top house as a junior. If you care about looks go APhi. If you care about sisterhood wait for formal and try for ADPi, and if you can’t get them then maybe consider Tri Delt or Gamma Phi but it’s less worth it at that point and even mids usually don’t take juniors. Just join an exclusive club or something you won’t be here much longer anyway
