do frats care about legacy status?

It depends which fraternity. The top 3 fraternities of Lambda Chi Alpha, Sigma Chi and Phi Kappa Psi are very very selective. If you are not "top tier" in looks, personality, wealth and pulling hot girls. Your "legacy" will not get you very far. If you are a middle or lower tier house it could help.

Basically every house below the top 3. TKE,SN, etc give bids to anyone that walks though the door, they just want bodies to fill their house and pay their dues.

I'm a legacy at sigma nu. Does that make a difference? I'm fairly good looking(5'10 and muscular), have a decent personality(High IQ and I'm told that I'm very funny), dad works in finance, not the best with girls(I don't really try on account of being a gdi lol)
