Purdue ATO transfer
by: TransferI’m transferring from another school to Purdue and joined ATO as a freshman this year. I’m wondering if anyone has an honest opinion on them as a house all around. I’ve seen that they have one of the nicest houses on campus, but don’t know much about what they’re like on campus. Just want to know so that I can reach out to them if they seem like a good fit.

ATO is a pretty chill group of guys it’s just really how long your here and what you want. They have great house however it is technically owned by phi sigma kappas alumni so it’s not like their permanent house if phi sigma kappa came back then they’d have to go to another house. Party wise these guys are pretty solid and honestly it never hurts just to go by their place explain you were a ATO else where and see how it is

ATO is easily one of my favorite frats on campus. The guys are really fun to be around and very respectful to the girls that spend time at their house. I’ve never felt unsafe walking through their doors and have made so many good and fun memories at this house. I would definitely recommend going up and knocking on their door at the beginning of the semester and meet some of the people in their house.

ATO is socially irrelevant at purdue. If you want to join a house that will actually throw a party, or one that sororities want to show up at, I'd suggest rerushing. It's also Purdue so even the mid and below houses tend to have weird guys. If you want to have some chill dudes who are normal to be around only look at the top five houses. And for reference ATO isn't even top 15.

I feel like this is a little harsh. ATO is a very well rounded house. No they are not THE top house on campus, but they are still very social. They consistently pair with reputable sororities and have a very big presence on campus through their philanthropic events. They have a really high house gpa, have nice guys that aren’t creepy, and are on par for the Purdue social scene. If you ask me it’s a good spot to be at, but just depends on what you value and are looking for.

Go look at an frat rankings posted in the last month. ATO is usually not even relevant enough to make a list, and if they do they are always at the bottom. If you're not looking to be in a top house, then i'd recommend going for any mid house over one like ato: k sig, pike, d sig, snu, zbt would all be better choices than ato. Genuinely trying to help you here. All the ones saying ato is even worth rushing at are guys in the house and trying to take advantage of new hs grads coming on here to find where to rush in the fall.

I’m not in ATO but I am friends with some of them and understand the vibe in their house and I wouldn’t say it’s a bad house to join. Yes, if you are joining a fraternity only for the social aspect then ATO is not the house for you. They are a solid house socially, but can’t compete with houses like Theta Chi or SAE who are consistently considered top houses. However, if you are looking to get a well rounded fraternity experience, then it may be a good house for you. This person isn’t wrong by saying that there aren’t other houses to look at, but you have to check out them all and see which one is the BEST fit for you not necessarily what you would like to be the best fit.

i really don’t agree with this at all. every real ato function i’ve been too has been packed to the max and an absolute good time. their smaller functions are their pcps in the basement or at the satellite house and those are pretty chill but it’s supposed to be chill to get to know the pcs.
