Greek Chapter Summer Improvements

It is time to determine how we can improve SMU Greek Life. After numerous discussions with fellow srat sisters, we have concluded the following improvements would be most beneficial.
Fraternities
SAE
Please maintain your beautiful Chapter House, but consider some improvements. Some of you are hot, and the others could benefit from an in-house gym with a trainer. Also try to hire a dietician to improve your premature Daddy bods. We do not expect much changes next year as you continue to be connected to Kappa at the hip.
Sigma Chi
Congrats on an awesome Spring PC. As a top tier fraternity, your Chapter House needs to reflect this campus dominance. You have the best campus location with the largest footprint. However, the temporary house façade was an eye sore when it was built 30 years ago. Being on one the campus’s busiest street corners, it would only benefit your Chapter to build a dominant front house facade. Seriously consider adding a 3 story front porch portico with large columns, wider roof trim and outside accent window shutters. Use the SAE house as a model. Renovate your back patio as well. All of these House improvements can be completed this summer and would make a major statement in the Fall.
Fiji
Focus on rebuilding your Chapter finances. Your social status will continue to drop until the Chapter can fulfill social financial commitments with other major sororities. Seriously consider sending your newly elected Chapter Officers to your National Headquarters for Chapter financial training. Establish a Chapter Financial Oversight Committee to monitor your Chapter Officers.
Phi Delt
Your also have a beautiful Chapter House on a major campus street corner. However, your overall Chapter identity remains unclear. Some of you are straight forward, while the others mix with Sig Ep and their questionable charades. Now more than ever is the time to be open about being PAN and member preferences. Be open and the srats will respect that.
BETA
Another beautiful Chapter House. It is time to make it your own. The srats really recognize the quality mid-western guys your Chapter adds every year. Especially when you avoid taking ethically challenged Chicago area guys. Lets have Harvest Fest Theme Parties next year. It will be a blast.
Sig Ep
The srats are patiently hoping your troubles will be behind you soon. Seriously consider forming an Ethics Oversight Committee to monitor your Chapter’s Officers, members and pledges activities next year. Set up a Standards Council to discipline those that do not abide by these standards. We hope you will return next year with a new purpose of brotherhood.
Kappa Sig
Stay just as you are and have been for decades. Small but fun. You members all seem to be very happy and you guys have no issues with pairing up with those select girls who enjoy your company.
The remaining fraternities all have our support.\n\n\n\n\n

Sororities
The university and our National Offices will mandate on-campus mixers, parties and other activities for the foreseeable future. That being said, Sororities must step up financially to host and share in the financial burden for these Greek Life activities.
We must simply look back to the 1930-50s, when each sorority would host an afternoon social with a selected fraternity. These socials, now mixers can be non-alcohol afternoon functions at each sorority house at their courtyard, yard or reception areas. This will bring sober courting gentlemen to our Chapter Houses once a week.
The fraternities in turn can host a weekend evening party at their Chapter House with a sorority member date they met at that week’s sorority mixer. Just like he good 'ole days of the 1930-50s.
Hope these constructive ideas will bring Greek Life back to the Hilltop next Fall.

Thanks 'Sis,
After reading your earlier Greek Life suggestions,
our Chapter favorably voted on hosting afternoon mixers. We are renovating our house and yard this summer to accommodate these upcoming exciting events.
So far 3 fraternities have agreed to attend these Thursday afternoon mixers. Our Chapter is booked each Thursday afternoon from September through October.
Please continue suggesting making these constructive ideas that will bring Greek Life back to the Hilltop next Fall.

Srats have suggested to the newly elected Sig Chi officers to renovate their long standing unattractive temporary house facade. They pressed Fiji to step up financially to support several social events. Lets hope for positive actions this summer to set us for a great Fall semester!

The new concept of afternoon socials with selected fraternities is really resonating down sorority row. These non-alcohol afternoon functions at each sorority house's courtyard, yard or reception areas will be a highlight of the Fall semester. Next, lets next help the Sigma Chis tear down that old temporary Chapter house facade & replace it with a permanent campus matching Georgian style 3 story portico porch facade with wide columns, wider roof trim and outside accenting window shutters. That widely seen corner Chapter house really needs renovations.

Reserve and dedicate your energy to these 3 projects this summer.
1. Establish weekly sorority house hosted Fall semester mixers.
2. Renovate the Sigma Chi chapter house facade.
3. Financially rescue the FIJIs from insolvency.
Call, e-mail, text, IM or snap your sorority social, officer chairs with your excitement over these projects. Lets get mov'n.

the posts throwing rocks at her constructive ideas must be by incoming chapter treasurers. they want the high chapter dues to continue with limited low budget activities while pocketing the exce$$.
