by: girl

this year I went through formal sorority recruitment and I ended up dropping... should I rush again? and do sophomores get bids?
also, does spring rush happen or is that just a myth

Rush again— most sophomores who have (1) good friends in a house that will introduce them to people and (2) good standing with grades will get exactly what they want.

hey there! I am a sophomore who just rushed and got into the house she wanted all along. I'd say it really, REALLY depends which I know is a hard answer to hear. If I am being honest, you need to be friends with girls in that house for sure, and its better to kind of be friends with everyone instead of best friends with like two of them- the house I am in now was one I was kind of friends with everyone in. And you need to make friends with the girls with the most influence in the house, likely the ones being featured on the insta (you know who I'm talking about) otherwise you don't have much sway with a house. I've heard successes for pretty much every house and also failures, but VERY few people who rushed as sophomores ended up where anyone expected them to,for better or worse, so keep that in mind if you are dead set on ONLY one house. Hope this helps, and best of luck

Just so you know, even if they tell you differently, if a house cut you as a freshman, you probably won't get a bid as a sophomore. You'll probably just have the same choices as when you dropped this year. If that's ok, and you've now decided that you want one of those houses, you better have a convincing reason that you dropped. No one likes you to choose their house because you feel like it's your only option. Especially since even the houses that greekrank ranks at the bottom are unbelievably great houses.

Honestly I know sophomores who got bids from houses that dropped them first day of rush their freshman year. I know a lot of sophomores who had full schedules this year. On the other hand I know sophomores who dropped out on day two.
