how to be in smu’s top sororities

by: Lala

Hi! So I am thinking about attending SMU for college, and understand how big of a deal Greek life is there! For someone that is not a legacy but is considered better off, would they have a shot at the upper tier of sororities at SMU? Would skin color play a roll? How would girls get themselves out there to be noticed by the actives of the these sororities- especially if they don’t know anyone from there?

What the hell is "better off"? What if the top sorority for you isn't what you consider "top"? You want to join a tier instead of a sisterhood? You're not "top"!

Let me lay it out for you: joining a sorority will force you to become a certain way, that is you are going to act a certain way, talk a certain way, and think a certain way. 9/10 you will stump in personal growth as you will be focused on trying to maintain a superficial demeanor. On one hand you act very nice to others, but on the other hand you will be judging people based on their status rather who they are as a person. If this is the path you want to take, go for it. Go Greek!

Only LEGACIES are considered for membership for sororities 1 - 6 at SMU.

Go into Greek life with an open mind. “Better off” doesn’t guarantee you anything, if you think money is helping your status than Greek life isn’t for you. It’s about sisterhood

Over 200 2018 Freshmen Ladies have transferred away from SMU due to its' rigged Legacy-Filled 2018 recruitment. Relying on SMU and Panhellenic made recruitment a 2 semester almost $100,000 hellacious ordeal. That will take up to a year of continuous classes at another university to fully recover.

Most of us are now attending summer sessions at our new university to catch up for the lost credits that did not transfer. We will have to go through recruitment again and pledgeship as a sophomore at our new university. Then continue into summer session in 2019 to catch up on the remaining lost credits in order to graduate on time with our peers. Yes, we are tired of SMUs Panhellenic rigged predetermined recruitment then their cover up spins.

Of course you directed your post to the more than 30 ladies that are now attending UT Austin summer sessions, who are from the 200 plus SMU ladies that dropped from it's 2018 rigged recruitment. We experienced our first major academic social corruption crisis with class and grace.

You are correct. The UT sororities are fully aware of the SMU 2018 recruitment failure and are gladly making arrangements to meet us. You will hear from us again to prevent this corrupt process from recurring to the incoming SMU ladies of the 2018 Fall freshman class.

FULL DISCLOURE IS NOW REQUIRED.

Wait. You actually picked your school over GREEK LIFE, then switched when it didn't go your way? Sounds fake, but okay.

Wow. That is the most mental thing I've ever heard. You're probably a troll, but if not, you're not very bright, are you?

This is gonna make me giggle the rest of the day.

Just wondering what you thought legacies to sororities were for? Did you not understand they got preferential treatment? If not, you need to prepare better for life in the real world. Also, just as a side note, unless you were dropped by EVERY sorority, you have no right to complain.

Paying $100,000 a year to SMU while being in a socially and financial deficient sorority does not make academic or financial sense. UT Austin costs less than half and offers a much better social life in a Greek Chapter or a GDI.

There are no socially or financially deficient sororities at SMU.

As they should be! Imagine you were a legacy and your daughter wasnt given a lchance first. You would a worse nightmare than you already are. Legacies are noticed first and if they are liked they are taken. If not, they move on. You can get your foot in the door as a legacy but that under no circumstance means they have a spot. They have to fit in.
