sophomore rushing

by: the boy

I'm a freshman who was looking to rush but didn't realize that the requirement to do so is 14 credits and not 12. I dropped one of my classes with my gpa in mind, and didn't think twice about it because I thought that the rush requirement would be the same as the full time student requirement. It'd make a lot more sense if they had it set up like that. Regardless, what's done and is done and it seems like I'm looking at fall of sophomore year to rush. Is it any different, rushing fall of sophomore year instead of spring of freshamn year? Especially with a reason like mine?

Im speaking from experience as someone who rushed in the fall as a sophomore. Its generally more competitive sorry to upset you but thats the truth. Houses already set up the bulk of their new members during the fall and are now looking at extra people but not necessarily people they really need. On the bright side, you are still a student at Penn State right now. You can still try to form relationship with many people at the houses you are looking at this semester so next one they already know who you are. Not to mention many of your boys will be in houses this semester. Try to meet as many brothers as you can this semester whether you are rushing or not. Good luck kiddo.

not true, the biggest pledge classes are in the spring, fall is more competitive and are usually sophomores who got rejected during freshman year

Fall rush is more competitive. Maybe rush as a ghost?
