sorority gpa requirements for pnm's??
by: mollyI know every sorority has a PNM GPA requirement to join, does anyone know what they are for all or most of the chapters? Thanks :) I am around a 2.9 gpa right now so I am wondering

Don't know the requirement for every chapter but many do have a 3.0. You will be cut automatically from those even if you are gorgeous and the funniest person ever. Doesn't sound nice but it really is for your own good. You are here for academics and membership takes a great deal of time and energy. The chapters want to make sure they recruit members that can handle it all. Less than a 3.0 is well below the all women's average.

seriously, don't worry at all. i spent pretty much all winter break last year stressing about this. my first semester freshman year was absolute hell and my grades reflected it.. i had a 2.51 gpa and JUST made the requirement to rush (a 2.5). i still got called back to most sororities, the only few i wasn't were the tops like kd, kappa, pi phi, etc but i dont think it was because of my grades, just that im not top tier material.
there was a rumor that after open houses aoii dropped everyone under a 3.5. this wasnt true.
dont worry AT ALL. i was stressed for no reason. and, being in a sorority totally helped my gpa believe it or not too! (not saying a 2.9 is bad, just saying don't be stressed about time commitments etc)

yes, i am a sophomore @ psu. got most back :) the one i am in now only required a 2.5 to get a bid. some require higher except if they really like you theyll take you as a "grade risk". we have mandatory study hours based on our gpa, so i have to do more hours than most girls but its really helped my gpa! i stressed for a good 2 months about this last year so i feel you girl.
