kappa beta gamma

I'd be wary of joining this sorority. First, they aren't part of NPC. Second, they open and close chapters really fast and often scoop up members from NPC sororitys that have closed.

If the AXOs all join, good luck with AXO ever coming back to this campus. Ever wonder why Chi O and Tridelt never came back? Just look at ESA and Trilogy

The KBG chapter at Wake Forest is a legit-looking cover for the group that used to be Pi Phi, which is a continuation of the Strings Society, a local founded in the 1940s, way before the school had national sororities. Wake's locals all had heavy-duty hazing traditions, and after they affiliated with NPCs in the '80s, they were reluctant to give those traditions up.

The fact that KBG isn't NPC is likely to be a plus to some PNMs, especially if they don't become associate Panhellenic locally—the fewer rules the better.

As long as the university continues to crack down on legit national GLOs on one hand but continues to recognize groups like Trilogy and ESA on the other, there will be an incentive for these kinds of situations.

Your last paragraph sums it up. Don’t hate the player hate the game. This is why the sororities depending on the fraternities for alcohol and social approval sucks so much.

That chapter at Wake Forest is very strange. I visited there and saw they use the anchor as their symbol. Confusing because that is not KBG's symbol (which is a lion I think) and it is not Pi Phi's symbol. Wondered if there was some odd connection to DG somehow.

I agree that as long as PSU keeps cracking down on legit sororitys, these kinds of organizations will pop up in rebellion. Not great for women that want a real Greek experience but okay if all you care about is access to frats.

Agreed, also they call themselves 'Betas' not Kappas or KBGs as other Kappa Beta Gamma chapters do. Idk about KBG nationals but I know my nationals would be pissed if a chapter started using random symbols and not using our normal nickname. It doesn't seem like they are very proud to be KBGs.
