in theory, rankings are based on THON totals, brotherhood size, philanthropy efforts, and overall activity/popularity on campus. of course, with increased popularity also comes bigger/better parties. so naturally if you look at the totals of the top tier houses they are always much higher than the low tier houses. houses rise due to better activity within the community and they fall by ruining relationships or getting in trouble
