what actual difference does tiers make?

What’s the difference between being in a top, mid, bottom tier? Any real benefit of being in a higher tier?

it’s pretty much the same as high school honestly. for the most part those in top tiers were the “popular” kids in high school. not saying they’re better than anyone else it’s just the way it is
