TOP TIER:
Kappa Alpha Theta - diverse, often wealthy, lots of girls from NYC. Oldest sorority at Yale so has the most legacy
MIDDLE TIER:
Pi Beta Phi - has been joint top with Theta for a long time but has dropped slightly as they lost their house and pledge classes are no longer split between them and Theta
Alpha Phi - has been solidly middle tier since they came to Yale in 2015, but seems to be rising and just got a new house
BOTTOM TIER:
Kappa Kappa Gamma - not competitive as far as pledge classes go, but very kind and genuine girls
Keep in mind that everyone has different opinions and preferences when it comes to choosing a sorority so if you want a "mainstream opinion" of the current ranks here you go, but it shouldn't influence your ultimate decision in January.

it seems like the current rivals are alpha phi and pi phi because as of the past 2 years girls have been either split between theta/aphi or theta/pi phi as their top 2 choices

As a senior I would say that as soon as Alpha Phi came to campus Pi Phi started to slide downhill because they started to compete over rushes and Pi Phi had only ever had to compete with Theta. Now with the loss of the house for Pi Phi and APhi having a new house it's pretty much official. Theta's chillin at the top now and Pi Phi/APhi are at each others throats

APhi and Pi Phi don't hate each other. Everyone knows they have completely different vibes. Most of this "rivalry" is just people on this website trying to stir stuff up so rush seems more dramatic

losing the house is what dropped pi phi from top in my eyes. slightly shifting pledge classes isn't that noticeable to people other than panhell, but this is.

^ ??? the driver was a guy in sig ep, theta did not run over anyone. there aren't facts to support who else was in the truck or what other frats or sororities did after, but there is no reason to think everyone didn't mourn the woman that died. the guy driving was punished and the members of sigep at the time were sued. stop speculating trying to make people look bad when we DON'T know what happened because NO ONE COMMENTING WAS THERE.

Clarification... Pi Phi gets some girls who aren't well known and so does APhi but the difference is Pi Phi actually makes everyone feel accepted, so many girls have dropped APhi this year because of the cliques in APhi and how it seems to be a rich bi-tch environment. Sorry not sorry.

sig nu - aggressively fratty and sporty
leo - rich guys, internationals
aepi - not on high st, but does their own thing and has fun doing it

LEO parties have been PACKED the past year because 2020 wasn't around when the scandal happened so none of the freshmen cared and they all still went. Their reputation is tainted for SURE, but it's not dead

alpha phi was literally brought to campus to be SAE's sorority counterpart because theta/sigep and pi phi/sig nu had been a thing for years. and right after that happened SAE became disaffiliated from the national chapter and became leo, and nobody could mix with them anymore. i'm tired of people lying about what actually happened lmfao

factually inaccurate. I'm a senior guy and as a freshman pi phi always was at SAE and kappa started at SigNu and then it usually rotated a bit.

aphi was brought to campus because yale needed a fourth sorority not because of SAE. but when you were a freshman things were different. kappa NEVER goes to high street anymore and pi phi hangs way more with sig nu. SAE/leo is controversial so a lot of people go there and a lot of people don't, but most girls who consistently go are in aphi

aphi and pi phi both have tons of randos which makes them solidly middle tier... each of their most recent pledge classes has a handful of coveted girls and the rest are random people. in aphi it's mostly girls who would probably never be in a sorority if they weren't at yale, and theta rejects. in pi phi it's mostly athletes and suburban, often conservative, usually white girls

To clarify - Aphi gets a lot of rich girls who get dropped from theta (these are the Leo types) and then girls who are into more of an alternative nightlife scene. Pi Phi is the sorority that's most like greek life at other schools. Lots of girls who wear their letters and go hard

in fairness pi phi does really well during rush in that they have a very distinct type that's different from the other 3. like it's known for having a lot of athletes so tons of athletes rush wanting pi phi or nothing at all. so pi phi is REALLY sought after for a select kind of person at yale

Pi Phi is definitely not top tier anymore. There's a way bigger gap between Pi Phi and Theta than Pi Phi and APhi at this point, and the loss of their house basically tipped them off the top tier rank. I mean go ahead and argue either way but lots of people are saying Theta is the only superpower now
