In the early 1970s, a national survey established that Tri Delta chapters were interested in children, hospitals, and cancer. At the 1974 Tri Delta Convention the three were combined to support Children's Cancer Charities as the designated philanthropy. Many chapters observe "Sleighbell Day" on the first Tuesday of December, following the tradition of Sleighbell Luncheon, first held in the 1940s by 13 Southern California chapters to benefit a doctor researching blood diseases at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. In 1999, Tri Delta partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude (through the fundraising branch, ALSAC) assists Tri Delta chapters in planning philanthropy events that benefit the children and subsidize research costs at St. Jude. Many chapters coordinate fundraising activities such as pancake breakfasts and football tailgates on their campuses each year. In 2002, Tri Deltas committed to raising $1 million to build a Teen Room at the St. Jude Hospital

Love the girls I know in DDD - Don't really know the new president, so I can not judge! Hope she has the girls support behind her since there seems to be a lot of hate towards her and the RC. I doubt its coming from "inside" this chapter - I have a feeling it someone trying to start something to make their chapter look better.

All of this is ridiculous.. I have never seen such two faced people.. A chapter talking about it's own chapter and others thinking they know how another chapter works and everything about its members.. People GROW UP! Stop talking bad about each other, my goodness. We are college students here, act like it. Stop talking down on others. Tri Delta is a great chapter with amazing members. Some of my very best friends are in their chapter. No chapter is any better than another, and you are not any better than the girls you are talking crap about.. They love their chapter just like anyone else and who are you to say who will make a good or bad officer?! Way to judge people! This nonsense needs to STOP! If your own life is so awful, that all you have to do is talk about others, I am truly sorry..... Tri Delta, keep doing your thing! Stay positive! Haters are going to Hate! DDDTTT!!!

I'm in this chapter myself. I don't get what the big deal is: 1)LIFE is life, GIRLS are girls, and things happen! Jennifer and Riley were chosen for their great spirit AND because the only other girls capable of being president hold strong biased and are too much "power- seekers." Jennifer was voted on nom com by her pledge class which proves she is trusted, which is all nom com is about- to represent your pledge class. People are VOTED on to nom com because their pledge sisters trust their opinions to choose the slate. 2) Now, Jen did a great job during recruitment and did her job amazingly. Duh, she got stressed but atleast she doesn't scream shutup a thousand times for no reason. She gives positive reinforcement, and DOES have her stuff together completely. Being a president is hard. Some people may speculate but whatever comes Jennifer's way she will take it, deal with it, and learn from it. DDD will be just fine.
