pledging ast was one of the best decisions i've made at shu. ik im pretty biased as i'm a sister, but it's genuinely full of some of the best and nicest people on campus. they are super inclusive too, and i've never felt uncomfortable expressing myself with my sisters.

i often feel bad for ast because of their treatment on campus. there is a huge lack of respect for this org and i think that their treatment feeds into the reason why they cannot grow their presence on campus. on the other hand, i find that some of the sisters can come off bitter and mean. it is no secret that if you were to rank ast it would be bottom tier, but i think that these type of arbitrary things have less meaning when you pay less attention to them. time and time again i hear ast sisters bashing other orgs, body shaming other women (it goes both ways!), etc. i hope that they are able to gain more traction during this year's recruitment but it's hard to say whether they will or not. they dirty rush like crazy which probably doesn't help them in the long run. it sucks to say bc i believe this org has so much potential and some very great, kindhearted women thrown in the mix with others who are hateful and mean.
