What is the cost of joining a fraternity at SJSU? pledging and later on

In all honesty it differs from house to house so the best advice is to check them all out and ask questions such as this one to help figure out what you can afford. Also ask about payment plans and other method of easing the financial toll. However don't base a decision strictly on how much it cost.

Of course I won't thanks! But what is the average or range of cost? im trying to avoid any surprises

from my personal experience dues for the houses in the IFC council range around 500 a semester, that is a rough estimate though. Houses in the USFC council have less expensive dues on average, and i'm not sure where the price range is for the Houses part of NPHC ( I believe they are less than IFC's as well).

If you really want to join a fraternity, you'll find a way to make it happen financially. Get a part time job if you have to. A lot of Greeks do that. But if you're going to stress about money, then this could affect your commitment to your chapter.
