GPA....... should I rush?
by: pickle2635I'm not sure if I should rush or not, I have a 3.1 GPA. Weighted it's a 3.5 but I know UK goes based off of unweighted. I wrote an academic statement on my resume stating the personal issues I've had in high school which affected my GPA, but I wont waste my time if I will get dropped by a majority of houses after my open house video. I know I meet most houses GPA requirement, but will they still drop me? Please if anybody has rushed with similar stats let me know what houses dropped you. I was also super involved and had good hours if that helps. I don't want to waste time or money if it wont work out.

I would RUSH but you may be dropped from almost everyone automatically after the first night. The GPA minimum has changed and they don’t report it but almost everyone drops everyone without a 3.25 UW. This is unless you know girls already that will pull you in. If you don’t know anyone, then I would drop out of rush when/if you don’t get what you want (making sure you attend everything until then, and then try for COB spring semester. I really wish you the best of luck. We do the same thing you did regarding the letter to Panhellenic explaining the grades due to a severe family issue in high school. It did not seem to matter.
