what are middle rank houses like?

you honestly shouldn't base who you want to join off of what the superficial people on this website think. It doesn't matter if you are pretty or cool, join who makes you feel good about yourself. being in the prettiest sorority isn't whats going to matter to you in the long run.

If you join a house based on the people in it you will build long lasting friends and relationships which is what the greek system is all about. The person above is right, don't join a house for superficial characteristics because you will get nothing out of it except drama

Best thing you can do is find people in recruitment who share your values BEFORE any of them have a label attached, and then assess where you see connections. The only way to improve house standing (not a popular view, I know) is from the bottom via a good PC with leaders. The top-down approach never works because the members are indoctrinated to choose people 'like' them but that they can control. If you find leaders and friends during recruitment and you sense resistance to them and their values from a house based on looks, socio-economic bias, etc., that's a good indicator that you won't be happy in that house. Ignore the labels; any house gets better one pledge class at a time.
