dropped

by: Older

Everyone keeps saying that the reason we get dropped is because they can see us somewhere else but I'm not a freshman. Could I have been dropped for me age?

Yes it is a possibility because chapters look at the total composition of sister and who is likely to stay and for how long. They want a balance. For example if they know several upper classmen will study abroad or go early alumn they may consider adding more upper classmen in the new member class. However some chapters don't like having upperclassmen in the NM class because the balance of maturity is so different.

You have to be EXCEPTIONAL to get a bid as a Sophomore and pretty much PERFECT if you are a junior. I mean PERFECT!

I got in as a junior. Was dropped by about half the houses 1st day because of my age, however, I still ended up with my top 3 choices & got into my fav house. I'm by no means perfect but friends I had made over my 1st 2 years on campus fought for me. Just wanted to give hope to the sophomores & juniors out there :) I also felt like I had advantage being more confident & mature going thru recruitment than the freshman.

Ugh. Hope to see your resume on my desk someday. You damn sure won't see mine on yours.

Also rushed as a junior and was dropped by the majority of the houses because I wasn't interested in living in. Was bummed at first but ended up loving the girls in the house I chose and didn't regret a thing!
