large drop in membership?

Many of the sororities have a large difference in membership numbers between the Fall and Spring semesters (like the F15-S16 year), why is that?

A lot of people will leave wsu completely, but also it's kind of a transition during freshman year. Many people go through recruitment to give sororities a shot, but sometimes girls find that it's too time consuming or its just not for them!

Freshman 20 (shunned), can't handle constant alcohol / break house rules, run face first into mean girls, can't study, paint coolers, and do pledge stuff at the same time (academic probation), etc.
