dropped from all my favorite houses.

I'm so crushed. I was dropped from 6 houses that were honestly the only ones I could see myself in. They were genuine and I was happy and wanted to go back and felt comfortable which is hard since I'm shy. I got to go back to a lot of "top" houses according to my friends but I didn't feel like I fit in as well. So I'm really questioning the system now, it's failing me hard so far to the point I may drop out tomorrow. I've given them a second chance, it's just made it worse and now I'm afraid I won't have anywhere to live the rest of the year when I drop out. :( I just don't see how I can be so happy and have such an epiphany like this is where I'm meant to live omg sort of moment then get tanked:/ are these girls faking their sincerity? Why can't everyone from both sides of recruitment be a little more straight forward. If the girls weren't told what to and not to say, it would be a little more genuine honestly. It's frustrating and dissapointing in the end to be lead along to be dropped. The girl I would first talk to would yell bye with my name as I was leaving with the second , I talked to 4 girls a lot and even the president or a board member most of the time.

Yeah well lucky you. I feel you but even worse. I only got back 4 invites and they were all houses I liked the least or felt like I didn't connect to the most. It's like ... Was I not interesting enough?? I resonate with every single thing you said from being shy to feeling lead on because at several houses girls would remember my name and yell goodbye to me personally. Why would you bring my hopes up and do that to me if you were just going to drop me after the first round? It's really frustrating and I want to drop going Greek all together but we really need a place to stay. The only other housing option at this last minute is Hansee Hall for people who drop and that sounds the absolute worse.

Give them all a chance. Just because you didn't click the first day doesn't mean you wont... I mean, you were only there for 30 minutes... The houses have dozens of girls, maybe you just didn't talk to the right one(s). Keep an open mind.

I dropped recruitment when I went through and to be honest I regret it. I was left with my bottom three houses and I just couldn't handle that, the RCs would tell me things like "why would you want to be in a house that let you go. They're the ones missing out and the other houses really want you so give them a chance." and "most of the houses aren't that different. Remember all the reasons you want to go Greek and join any house for those reasons."
I dropped anyway, I received a snap bid (bid for someone who dropped) and I still rejected it. When I did COB I ended up joining the house that gave me a snap bid that was in my bottom 3 and now I love it. I regret dropping recruitment because I basically missed my bid day and a lot of fun bid week activities.
All the houses here are great and you'll fit in anywhere, you'll also have all of Panhellenic to find friends and the whole Greek community as well.
Trust the system, it always works out. I promis you'll be pleased with whatever house you end up in and the community will just make your college experience that much better.
