fall recruitment

With all the uncertainty this year I would honestly wait for cob, since only about 150 people are going through recruitment most houses will cob at least a couple of girls. You should definitely still join the Greek community this year!

I would honestly recommend rushing now rather than cobing just because you are gonna miss out on things before you cob and wish that you had joined earlier. Despite the fact the most houses will likely participate in cob this year, it’s not 100% guarantee and it is safer to just sign up for primary recruitment. Plus if you don’t like the process/house you get you can always participate in cob later. Doesn’t hurt to do it now

there won’t be a lot going on in the fall BUT dues for houses will not be that expensive because you’re going to get what you pay for. if you’re not getting a formal, you don’t have to pay for it

the benefit of joining in the fall is that houses are going to make an active effort to make new girls feel included and have as close to the real experience as they can get right now. if you don’t rush, it’s pretty much just going to feel like more of quarantine. at least joining a house will be something different and when quarantine lifts up some more, you’ll be able to be one of the first people to start enjoying greek life again. trust me too, all the girls already in the houses REALLY want you to have a good experience and to get to know you. even with virtual recruitment i’m excited because i just want to find my little!

i would say to hold off on COBing, just because formal fall rush is a once a year experience and it’s a lot easier on you as a PNM to rush that way. COB is full of a lot of you reaching out to houses (like frat rush) and those houses literally just ignoring your message if they feel like it. I’m not kidding, there’s houses that last year thought COB was beneath them and didn’t respond to anyone. Plus it doesn’t hurt to do formal fall anyway.

As for only “150” girls being signed up, there’s more than that now (around 300) and while that’s about half of last year’s that’s still enough for each PC to have 16 girls plus all the girls who still have to sign up for recruitment. Some houses will have more new members than others but we all knew going into Fall that no one was going to get a full PC 20. we all need to make due and i promise you that whatever house you end up in, they will WANT you and WANT to make you feel included, welcomed, and happy to be in that house
