Based on personality of a friend who accepted a '13 bid, these are likely the girls that were cut by the other sororities (or self-selected out of others because they were intimidated or didn't think they'd fit in). Nice for sure, which is what should be judged anyway, rather than the superficial. Some are just not great at socializing, i.e., awkward. One still has mom helping her with homework and helping her navigate college. Others are the type that weren't asked to dances in high school because they couldn't talk to boys. Some pledged a sorority only because they are afraid they won't be able make friends if left to the dorms. Again, down to earth and nice, will make lifetime friends, but are quirky and generally stick to themselves rather than leave their comfort zone. That's why they are not known on campus. If you clicked with these girls and have any leadership skills, you will shine.
