need advice before rushing
by: saraI lived in the dorms my freshman year and it was very blah socially. I'm thinking about joining a sorority for next year, but I'm not sure if that life is for me. I've also heard it's expensive. I was wondering how hard it would be to leave if I didn't like it/had trouble paying for it?

Hey!
I rushed as a sophomore too, honestly living in a sorority usually costs about the same as living in the dorms, and many are actually less than west campus. Mine costs about 1000 a month but that includes housing, food, and social events/chapter dues. And the houses are amazing spacious mansions that you will never have the opportunity to live in again. If you don't like it you can drop at anytime, all you have to do is write a letter of withdrawal, probably talk to the president and you can leave, they don't force anyone to stay in that doesn't want to. That said, joining a sorority has been the best decision I made in college and my only regret is that I didn't rush freshman year.
Good luck!
PS. sign up for greek preview in a few weeks, it is a great way to see what the houses are like and get a taste for what recruitment in the fall will be like.

Just out of curiosity, what house did you end up in? What houses usually take sophomores?
