Why is it so over the top? Why not have a more organic process like fraternity rush?

Other sororities do continuous open bid events similar to frat rush! Like alpha gam

Because chapters are more successful, more girls get bids, and sorority life is stronger. It is done this way nationally at every school with an NPC recruitment.
