Usually the colony will participate in only the first round of recruitment to introduce themselves to the girls, then drop out to let the other sorority groups complete formal recruitment. The new colony will then set up their own recruitment schedule afterwards for interviews and events. Girls who dropped or did not get a bid can sign up. A colony will look to recruit all class levels to mirror the other group's size etc.

There are many advantages of starting a new sorority. They will need girls in leadership positions right away, you start new traditions, etc. It's also hard work trying to build from scratch.

Actually according to NPC bylaws... the Panhellenic council cannot add a new sorority to our council until there is two consecutive semesters were chapters do not COB. and the likelihood of that happening won't be for awhile!
