The first freshman class at UTD - 1990
The first national Greek Orgs - 1992 (AGD & KS)
U.S. News & World Report's 2013 "Tier 1" national university, ranked 80 national public school rankings and 3rd among Texas public universities.

Houses. There are a few posts below who think they should put UTD in its place. Its obvious why, they're scared. We are a nerd school. UT-Austin is over 50% hispanic now. Their research status is threatened by Gov Perry and their "Greek Life" is about as hardcore as ours is now cept for SAE & Fiji. The only real difference? Housing. We need all our orgs to push for housing. Do it big on a 30 year note, spend a lot more than you can afford now because this school will only grow, and you will not only get new members based on the quality of your organization, but what you can do for them with superior housing options.

What else is next? How about some more sororities? Can we get CPC to agree on that please?

That you meant that this years UT Freshmen class was the first ever to have less than 50% Whites. But that doesn't really matter.

Fact is that other than the 2 Elite Fraternities and Sororities, any UTD greek can get in any of the other houses at UT. It isn't hard.

are no elite 2 fraternities or sororities. There are 4 top tier fraternities and the Big 6 for the sororities. That said, y'all's attempt to pretend you have inside knowledge of UT Greek life is laughable. It's easy to get in all but 2 sororities? Haha, tell that to the 500 girls who didn't get a house in formal rush. Most of your fraternity guys wouldn't get a bid to a middle tier house here much less SAE or Fiji. Sorry to be blunt, but your post was insulting and stupid.

My friend's a sae at utd. The middle tier fraternities at ut would be absolutely dominant at utd. The bottom tier fraternities at ut (the somewhat relevant ones) would be top tier at utd. Not even close...

Y'all are a joke saying your Greek life is anywhere near ours. There isn't an elite two, there's a big 4, and few people in UTD Greek life could get into them. As for saying your Greek life is as crazy as ours, I'm going to assume you've never been here (which your elite 2 quip implied anyway). As for what separates our Greek lives it's far more than quality of housing, which already makes our Greek life much more hardcore than yours. UTD has nowhere near the tradition, money, famous alumni or parties that UT does. You guys don't have anything that could come close to Round Up and our Greek system, along with quite a few others in the state, are far stronger than your's. I'm glad you enjoy your Greek life, but to pretend your's is almost as good and to deprecate our's is a joke, our Greek system is among the nationally elite (beyond just the top two fraternities that you delusionally think are the only ones you can't compete with) and your school is the kind of school with a 20-year old Greek system that doesn't come close to UT, SMU, TCU, Tech or even A&M, Baylor and Texas State.

you're number 80 spot with Ole Miss and UAB is really impressive compared to UT at 13 and A&M at 23.... and your Greek system isn't even close to that of any of the big Greek schools in Texas. Stop kidding yourself.

All you have to do is compare UTD Fijis with UT Austin Fijis. The UTD kis would all be in multicultural organizations in Austin.

It's pretty stupid to compare a non-housing greek community to any that has greek housing. It is completely different in every important aspect ($$$).

That said, I am pretty humored by the amount of attention UTD, a group of 500 Greeks total, are getting. Seriously, what the hell? See yall at Round-Up if you can get in.

but Baylor and TCU don't have legitimate houses and they're both among the better and richer Greek schools in the state (above many with houses). That said, UTD might be decent for a Greek system that's 20 years old with no houses and a lot less money than the big ones, but it's not in the same league at all.

^ this dude didn't get into UTD. Judging that you think its fun to come bash a school that is absolutely killing it for its age, you're probably at a place that is pretty boring.

life is nowhere near UT, TCU, SMU, Tech, A&M, Baylor or Texas State. Academically you guys are close to Tech, so I doubt the guys above didn't get in to UTD.

Haha, getting into UTD was easier than UT. Both were easy to get into but when all it takes is looking at a decent GPA to know whether you're in or out, it answers my question how stupid people are among others with a better potential.
