are any sororities mean to their new members?

I am wondering before I rush if any sororities haze or make it miserable for the new members? I don’t want to join one and then end up dropping because of that....

if i were you i would stay away from top tier sororitys. you will be fine if you go upper middle or anything lower (just look at ranking postings if you are confused). ranks are dumb at pitt because almost everyone still mixes anyway, it just shows how stereotypically sororityty the sororities are and which specific frats they mix with. the top tier ones are the ones that have the highest chance of treating the pledges like you are expecting.

ik through a close friend that tri sig hazes and their rules/expectations regarding the amount of parties you go to are really strict even after the new member process, but idk much about other sororities.
