Must Read for First Year Girls

by: Official Announcement

Important for first year girls to understand not to join a non-top tier sorority. I almost joined Pi Phi my first year but thank god I re-rushed my second year and my friends got me in Theta.

Start making connections now and go on rush dates, if you don't get in a DKE-grain invited sorority it will be pretty much be over for you on the social scene as you will only be mixing with lame fraternities and joining a sorority with other poor and non-classy girls.

TriDelt, Kappa, Theta, and Aphi are the only ones worth your while. Don't even thinking about joining something like DG or DZ as you will be miserable for the rest of your college career wishing you were in something better.

Great post. keep in mind your srat dictates alot of your dating options. I know i would never wanna date a guy in Sammy or Pi kapp or some low tier frat.
I want my kids to be taken care of

sooo what this post fails to tell you that if you aren’t in the select “inner circle” of those four srats… you will be hating life.

Literally they give frat invites to the sisters they only want to attend…. Just cuz you get a bid to one of these sororities doesn’t guarantee they actually include or a knowledge your existence.

As a Zeta, I hate to admit it but this post is absolutely correct. Being in a mid or lower mid sorority at UVA locks you into a particular social group. You will be only be invited to certain fraternity functions and automatically looked down upon due your letters.

The sad truth is the top tier (DDD, KKG, Theta, Aphi) are seen as much higher and usually always get to go the cool stuff in terms of frat parties and date functions (i.e. dke grain). If you dont get one as a girl and want to be on the social scene, your best bet is to just wait until you graduate and try again post-college.

This is as accurate as it gets. Unfortunately a ton of 1st year girls come in with the "im gonna join where I fit the most mindset." All to find out that the only happy people in greek life are the top tier and the people mid or lower are just bitter folks who resent the top tier.

hopefully actual first years realize this is BS and just someone looking to stir the pot. Good lord the GR posts these last few weeks have been an utter embarrassment. There are like 15 sororities and they all offer something, life does not suck if you are not in the top four. They'd like you to think it does, but it doesn't. And no one needs a DKE husband, good lord. Please go away whoever keeps writing this crap.
