2nd year rush???
by: advicei was planning on doing informal but idk if that will happen depending on what fall looks like (all online, part online, whatever) so is there any info about what rush is like for second years or any tips?

I say go for it bc it worked for me but half the friends I did it with dropped bc of the same reasons as their first year so manage your expectations. it’s def helpful to know people bc they can request to talk to you and then those rounds are way less pressure and a lot more fun but I also got asked back to a bunch where I didn’t know anybody. the one I joined I barely knew like 1 girl from orientation but I love it now!
try to think back about what went wrong first year - I was pretty awkward and scared so I think that me being a lot more confident, planning my outfits out completely, and even thinking about potential questions and answers really helped now that I kind of knew what was coming

I would do informal if you can just because you’ll get to know people sooner but otherwise go for it with formal! It’s a lot easier the second time around because you know people and connections are everything at uva. All my friends who did it 2nd year got into mid or upper tier sororities and are having so much fun now

I rushed as a second year and so did a bunch of my friends and we all had a great experience. I love my sorority and don’t think you should be embarrassed or feel weird about doing it bc truth is they probably won’t even realize you’re a second year til u say so

^i agree with this. I had full schedules with completely different houses but I also had friends who either had the exact same houses or even less. You should totally do it but also be open minded!
