Did you not match because you suicided?

I am sure you will find a home after bid day! COBs will be everywhere. Relax, take care of yourself.

yeah I suicided so I’m hoping for a COB! I’m guessing if I got a snap I would probably know by now

How many COBs, on average, are given out. I know it changes year to year, and sorority to sorority, but is there a rough estimate? 2 or 3 per chapter?

The were like a 1000 PNMs. If each sorority took about 50, how many people would be left out in the cold?

By: numb
by: Numbers

About 900 started. About 300 dropped. Lots of room to get into a sorority. 600 left...divided between 15 sororitys. About 40 or so could go to each — think the cap was around 50, even higher to start because...the number gets adjusted by however many girls stay in rush!!!! No ONE is left out in the cold unless they say they “just didn’t click” with the ones who invited them back. BS! You think you’re too good for them. At least say it.

Snap bidding is to meet the number ISC allows on bid day, AKA like 45 this year. COB is to meet quota set by nationals of the chapter. Snap bids are given out the day of bid day and are given to girls that dropped out of rush, generally girls who house toured there. Any bids that follow this semester are now COBs.

If you wrote a sorority down after prefs when you ranked them and were offered a bid and did not accept, you cannot do COBs or informal, must wait 1 full year. Likewise if you accept a bid and later decide to drop

"About 900 started. About 300 dropped."

That's a really high failure rate!

by: Excuse me?

Too good for the houses? I dropped, but not because I thought I was too good for any houses. I dropped because I didn’t click with the houses I had on pref day. I thought they were lovely girls, but just didn’t feel at home in the sorority on a whole. I can’t imagine that I would have gotten a bid from them today, we really didn’t click at all. Don’t accuse people of being so shallow and nasty.

ISC rush should be like frat rush, just people going to the houses they are actually interested in. Then get invited back or not. None of this other BS about ranking and waiting and "matching" like it's your true love husband

This is more like Tinder. Shallow

Girl in my group rushed knowing that she couldn't accept a bid because of money problems, but preffed anyway at two of the more expensive houses anyway. I had already been cut by those even though I could afford to join them.

By: sstories
by: Yep

There will be a few more who drop once they realize how expensive it is, that’s why being patient helps. Once the excitement and the “honeymoon” is over girls start dropping. Sororities are a big commitment of both time and money.

Not sure where you got that quota number from. I was told that the quota was 30. 5 houses were under this quota. WAY less people signed up to rush this year compared to last, and a TON of people dropped.

My friend in one of the sororities said 45 too, but that was a few days ago, before a load of girls, and eventually myself, dropped. Did they change it to 30 as the number of PNMs went down?
