rushing a sorority as a sophomore transfer?

by: heyoo

I'm thinking of transferring to UVA next fall and I was wondering if it'd be hard to get into a good sorority if I'm a sophomore transfer. Do you need to be in greek life to have fun/make friends or is greek life not that big of a deal?

It's not too hard to rush as a second year because each sorority has a second year quota they have to fill. Greek life isn't necessary to have fun here, we're only like 30% greek, but it definitely helps and can help you find a home at a big university!

Its a toss up. It can go very well! It can also go poorly. It is very random for second years. It is very dominating

greek life is about 30% in the FALL semester, but more like 40% when all the new members join second semester. no matter what anyone says, greek life is very very present on grounds and pretty much dominates the social scene
