This is the problem with so called "exclusive organizations". You all have this one image you look for, and see everyone else as different or weird because they aren't perfect like you. Its really sad actually that you cannot see a group for what they do rather than what they look like. There are so many of the cookie cutter sororities who have members who never do anything, no community service, etc. By judging others, you give yourself a bad name as sorority sisters. Remember, the goals of sororities and fraternities are to:
Develop bonds of brotherhood and/or sisterhood
Develop leadership and interpersonal skills
Form lifetime friendships
Work together with others in an atmosphere of teamwork
Perform community service projects
Program social functions for the student community
The diversity of DPhiE is what makes it amazing and unique. I salute them as a fellow Greek and see that they have more to offer the University of Maine than many of the sororities on campus. Bravo ladies, you are doing exactly what you should! Make sure you continue to be diverse, continue to be unique, and most of all continue to pick members based upon substance and character, not looks. Remember, "We can never judge the lives of others, because each person knows only their own pain and renunciation. It's one thing to feel that you are on the right path, but it's another to think that yours is the only path." -Paulo Coelho

No doubt the coolest sisters I've met out of any of the sororities. They all seem genuinely interesting, and are alway a pleasure to have around the house. As a bonus, they're all pretty damn attractive, which appears to not just be the result of a ton of makeup.
