what makes sororities "bad"/ bottom tier?

What makes pi phi and aephi so bad? Why do people make jokes of them I've seen some around campus and they both seem ok so what's the deal?

Pi phi seem close I wish they weren't awkward because I wanted to rush them but I want a social life. Aephi is just weird so I'll pass on them
