sorority recruitment?
by: ...Why does it seem like every sorority is doing spring recruitment...? Not throwing shade just genuinely curious since I didn’t know gphi or axo were known for spring recruitment.

Each sorority doesn’t take the same amount. AXO and gphi take more they are the biggest two chapters on campus.

They used to do variable quota, but this year it went back to normal so every chapter got basically the same amount of new members

They posted all over their instagrams that they were. Just because they didn’t follow through doesn’t change that they tried to.

Each sorority has their own criteria when deciding whether to use informal recruitment. Some groups are mandated by their International HQ to use it if they are even one woman below chapter total. A campus will sometimes raise chapter total (CT) after formal recruitment, so a chapter which believed their membership would make CT with their formal new member numbers will have to informally recruit members up to the new CT number. Lastly any chapter might lose a number of members to a Spring Semester abroad, or women who move back home due to illness/family concerns, and thus be allowed to informally recruit to CT.
