by: pnmis it true that theta is a bunch of granola girls lesbians and nothing like typical sorority girls? also do they actually not mix w frats? my cousin was in theta a long time ago and loved it and i like that they care a lot abt academics but idk if the way it is now would b for me

i literally said they more granola as in compared to other sororities. i said it isn't a bad thing. i also said that mixers have to do with exec and changes year to year so idk why you sound to upset when i said a lot of the same things as you

I would not say that at all! I have so many friends in theta and many of them chose it on pref over a top tier house because they liked their vibe better. I’m in dg but have been to formals with my friends in theta and I have to say that I met so many of them (and my friends included) who I literally could see being in dg so there’s definitely girls that are more of a sorority vibe

As someone in theta I think this generalization is unfair because it’s only touching on about 10% of the chapter. Theta is definitely one of the more diverse chapters and I love that about it! They are very accepting and this reflects positively in the sisterhood as well as the types of girls you will be spending time with. Sure a lot of the girls are more outdoorsy (same with chi o) but there’s also some girls here that clearly could’ve been in a top house. Then there’s also some of those “weirder” girls as well as some girls that are lgbtq (though I personally know of more lesbians in top houses than here lol). I think our social media people do a solid job representing everyone which not all houses do. This might be why theta gets a worse rap for having not as many “hot” girls or more “weird” girls than other houses… IDK. Theta has brought me many best friends that I totally relate to and then there’s some girls here that I’m not friends with necessarily but that’s ok! All houses at Boulder will have people that aren’t your cup of tea, that’s what happens with member classes of 100+ girls

I think Theta gets a lot of hate and rumors about them because they simply don’t care what people say. I was in Greek life the first two years of college and met a lot of great girls in theta. They seem to focus more on their actual sisterhood and philanthropy than their social standings, and I honestly find that refreshing. Part of the reason I left my sorority was because there was so much pressure to “fit in” with the Greek community, so to see an organization that doesn’t put that on their members is a green flag in my opinion. If theta had more of a party reputation then they would easily be on par with DG and Chi O

i don’t think of sororities as “clubs”. i’m in a club that meets for a hour once a month. a sorority is a bigger time and financial commitment

This is just not true. Theta does mix with frats, this past year they haven’t as much but that has just as much to do with their exec having less relation with frats (not because the girls keep to themselves). They also have a huge variety of girls so making this generalization isn’t fair.
