most important things for pnms

PNMs be smart!
1. Do NOT only follow the "top houses" on insta or just the houses you want. sororities see that and can tell when you are in it just for a popularity contest/ranks and you will not get invites back.
2. Be respectful and excited for EVERY HOUSE you go to!!! The girls can tell, and everyone is putting in so much effort to make this an amazing year and to help yall find the house you are meant to be in so match their energy, even if it isnt what you think you want.
3. Drinking, smoking, going to frats, etc... the first few weeks of school is a HUGE no. girls will see you and you will get IMMEDIATELY blacklisted.
4. keep an open mind during/after rush. it's really competitive and not a lot of people end up where they thought they would/wanted to and that is okay. dropping first round because you didnt get the houses you wanted is a real shame, and it's admirable to follow through to the end. if you get a bid, you can still drop before initiation and re-rush or COB in the spring, so seriously give it a shot wherever you end up!!! i know so many girls including myself that didnt get their top choice and ended up LOVING where they are now.
5. don't be in it for the ranks. first of all, everyone can tell and its a bad look. second of all, you're going to hate greek life if you think of it as a popularity contest. coming from a girl in a "mid tier" house who knows girls in "upper" and "lower" tier houses, it legitimately does not matter at all and you will be miserable if you change yourself during rush to fit into a specific house.
6. do NOT talk smack you will get blacklisted immediately. i have seen girls get blacklisted for being rude during rush and for talking smack, don't do that to yourself.
7. don't hesitate to ask girls about rushing, following them, etc... but do not try and talk to them/contact them during rush they are not allowed to talk to you
have the best time ever rushing, i promise it's not as scary as it looks and SKO GREEK!!!

During and before rush freshman should not be seen at any frats or bars. All freshman spend welcome week on farrand field and at dorm parties. If you choose to drink at these events, make sure to keep your composure and don’t do anything that will risk you getting blacklisted. It’s the first week of college, so most people drink, but as long as you’re smart you’ll be okay!
I know this sucks because the freshman miss out on the football tailgates but just remember everyone is in it together and welcome week is still super fun!
