Spring rush as a junior

by:

I’ve really wanted to be a part of Greek life but couldn’t until now because of extenuating circumstances. Will me being a brother for less time make it less likely I get a bid from top tiers. I feel like being older can only work against me. Any advice would be appreciated

It might but you can’t turn back time, so if you wanna go Greek might as well try. Older brothers pay dues for less years, so that’s why frats like freshmen. If anyone cares it’s going to be the top tiers, so if you’re connected or have your heart set on being a sigma whatever rush one of them but strategically it’s not the best bet. I would suggest maybe rushing one “top” and the rest frats that are considered “middle” or “lower” so you maximize your odds at getting a bid somewhere. You can probably have a good time anywhere especially if you’re close to 21 and don’t have to just rely on parties. At this point in your life you shouldn’t be worried about social status so just learn a little about all of them and rush the 3-4 you think you’d fit in best, making sure at least 1-2 are “safer” because if you rush three “top tier” frats you might end up SOL.
