Which frats care a lot about brotherhood?
by: spring '21I know every frat has brotherhood to some degree, but who are the guys who really take it seriously? I'm gonna be a freshman next year coming from an all boys boarding school. My friends there were basically my family and would take a bullet for each other. I'm looking for a similar degree of brotherhood here. I don't care about status too much, as long as the fraternity isn't a complete joke socially brotherhood is way more important for me.

don't listen to that guy both those frats have good parties and sorority relations, as well as tight brotherhood

Solid question to ask as a future rush. Brotherhood is probably the most important thing I'd encourage you to look for.
I'd say PiKapp and SAE are the best of the top, PiKapp especially. Sig Chi/SigEp are good but get a bit more cliquey.
The mids are also really solid but YMMV. It really just depends on how the frat builds brotherhood. If a smoke sesh or something more chill sounds up your alley, you might like Beta/AEPi. If you like nightlife and going out, maybe try Sammy or Phi delt since a lot of their bonds come from that. Pike struggles here a bit bc they're new but they're getting better.
As for ASig/Lambda I don't know too much but they seem like nice, regular guys. Probably most diverse of the frats.
At the end of the day, you'll find the best brotherhood wherever you find the best personality fit. No doubt about it. The kids in each frat I know who enjoy the brotherhood the most are the ones who fit in with the frat's vibe.

This is an equally good answer. The middle tiers really do have the best brotherhood Beta and Aepi do throw good events but they’re seen as more chill, Sammy and phi delt definitely rage more. Also I’d say all the sigs are pretty cliquey tbh especially sig ep bc they are so large. Pi kapp is the only one that actually feels like a brotherhood in the top tier

I would lump Beta and Phi Delt together, and Sammy and Aepi together. My sorority mixes with all of them and I just get more similar vibes from those pairings. I wouldn't say any one mid rages harder than the other, they all have very similar events with basically the same girls. I just see more parallels between brothers in those pairings than the other way around (like mentioned above). Beta and Phi Delt are kind of preppy, while Sammy and Aepi give off more of a city kid, hypebeast kind of vibe. To each their own though, just rush around and pick the brothers you get along with best.

This, I’ve definitely noticed that pi kapps betas and Sammys all tend to be pretty close when they interact on campus
