ACTUAL RANKS 2020

by: Real

Ppl might get pissed but this is how things actually are at UMiami. Within each tier it’s pretty much interchangeable based on personal preference:

Top:

Sigep/ SAE/ PiKapp/ SigEp

Middle:

Beta/ Phi Delt / Aepi / sammy / Pike

Lower:

ASig / Lambda

This is accurate in terms of who mixes with who. With sororities and groupies, you will find the same ppl tend to go out within the same tier. Thats why even with the “ranking” system its all preference. Ppl just argue to make their ego feel better......

I really like this post, especially because UM's greek life isn't really "rankable". Tbh every frat here is just a social club that chooses to enjoy the city of Miami in their own way. Some have better tailgates, some have lit pool parties, and some have fun nightlife venues. Or maybe a combination.

But I think most people will agree it's 100% impossible to "rank" frats in order at this school. I know kids who turned down "top" bids for "mids" and vice versa, I know kids who turned down "mid" frats for "lower" tiers. Same with sororities too!

After all, this isn't some hilly-billy SEC college town where not getting a bid from the #3 frat/srat means you go to the #4 one, and not getting a bid from the #7 means you go to the #8. Keep that in mind

Exactly. You wouldn’t think from this site but this is the actual reality. Also why ppl have friends in diff frats/sororities

This is true. The nicest thing about Miami is that not matter what frat or sorority you’re in, or if you’re a gdi, there’s so much nightlife outside of Greek life that it doesn’t really matter. At sec and whatever your frat directly influences who you can socialize with, but here especially with girls it doesn’t matter. Don’t have a mixer one night and wanna party? Go to liv. Darty szn and your frat skipped this weekend? SLS. Might be a little harder if you’re a guy but there’s still a lot to do outside of direct Greek events, and a lot of times you’ll find brothers or sisters to go out or whatever with you no matter what org your in

Switch the middle tier around a bit but it’s good for the most part (middle tier is also pretty interchangeable)

this is it. Also I have friends who went to A Sig and Phi delt parties and preferred them to some of the "top" frats parties. It's all preference and where your friends are.
