Are some letters of recommendation or support more powerfull than others? For example if I get a president of one of the sororities at another school to write a letter of support will that help me more than just a regular letter of support? Also would a rec letter from a president of an alumni association be more important than just a regular rec?

Think about it like you were applying for a job. A letter from someone that we know that knows you is best. A letter from someone that we don't know that knows you well is good too
