Sororitygirl 101 websites states that you should include your parents names and occupations on the resume. I know its not required but do people actually do this????

I can only answer for me...but, yes, I included that information. If a sorority cut me because of my parent's occupation, I wouldn't them as my sisters. I can't remember why I have ncluded this information...just that I did include it

i put my parents' name, university, and year of graduation. i think putting their occupation might be a bit odd but maybe it's more normal than i thought?

I would NOT put anything more than their names and if they graduated from a college. The rest is too much information to give out! I believe it is against the law to request that type of info now anyway with the privacy act laws. The main question should ONLY be if your mom or other close relatives were in a sorority to determine if you are a legacy and they can check on it if the need arises. Other wise only parent(s) names should be answered. I would have a parent ask the university if too much info is being asked. In this day and time you do not want to release a lot that might get out to the wrong hands.
